This white shape is an abstract remnant of a painting of a modified United States flag.  Physically, it is an extrusion of the shape that existed in the painting.  It is the starting point for other permutations of this shape which form the “White Creature” which is also the title of this show.  The shape itself has no implied meaning but since it is derived from a modified flag, it may be loaded with some meaning or symbolism already.  In modifying the existing flag symbol it can be assumed that a new meaning is created, but since there is no intended meaning, it creates an ideological void.
